Dynamo Darlington – FM19 – The Darlington Dynasty
By tnorthernknight | October 17, 2018 | 2020 Views
On the 3rd May 2012, the club was taken over by DFC 1883 with a community ownership strategy being the destined route to go although with a CVA (Creditors Voluntary Agreement). They are failed to be agreed to they were sent down the football pyramid and had their name removed.
This formed the Phoenix club Darlington 1883, since then they have managed to gain promotion up to the Vanarama North where they currently sit and some worry that they have plateaued.
Financial issues have plagued the club for many years even before a former owner decided they wanted to climb up the leagues and to do this he had to build a 25,000 seater stadium which was never full.
The squad depth currently seems lackluster with one of the new forwards brought in was sent into defence due to injuries and suspensions. This has angered some fans so they have decided to peel off and make the most of the thriving punk scene within the northeast.
Bands such as The Toy Dolls, Angelic Upstarts, Gimp Fist, Last Rough Cause, In Evil Hour, Crashed Out, Major Accident and The Struggle all hailed from this region. They have called upon their friends in Germany at FC St Pauli to help them start this club and integrate the same ideologies and culture present at their club.
The Badge
The badge is mainly a character called Alex, he is the leader of the droogs within the film A Clockwork Orange. This film is used by many bands within the punk scene for both logos, imagery and song ideas. The eye is a bright color as it makes his gaze more apparent and also breaks up the black and white color that is often associated with Darlington teams.
