Own World: Marseille – Part 1

The journey starts here in warm Marseille, but it will be in “My world”

So from the votes in the FMBrotherhood Faceboook Group you made your choice for me to rebuild Marseille in my own world. What will be then the first step? Look at the supporters profile and expectations of the board. Looks all ok, I just need to qualify for the CL and fans wants to finish above some rivals, quite a tough challenge for season one.

Save Overview

OK , let’s talk about how I will approach the save and what are my goals in 5 seasons. First of all I need to improve the staff. They look very poor and surely will cut on scouting staff, more about that in another article. The staff now have 2 assistant managers, cut down to 1 with better tactical management.

What will be my tactical approach ? I will start with a mid block direct counter attack, probably in 424 or a 4312. My main tactic will be the 4312, why? Let’s do something different, and it’s one I made before which is pretty good.

Next step will be to create player profiles by position with the main attributes on how I wanna play.  An example, my AMC will be a real old fashion 10 with good vision, long shots, leadership, dribbles, and passing. His defensive skills are not important. I will be looking for all of my players to have good teamwork too

Step 3: training schedules, made to improve our tactical approach and lots of set pieces included, so a set piece coach will also be a main target.

Step 4: with all this in mind, I will look at the squad planner and see what will be the main positions to strengthen…….

Why is this now so different from the normal approach? You need to be sure who you wanna play before you look to your squad planner. Then make clear choices and pick your targets for transfers carefully and also look at your youth teams which talent fits in your tactic or retrain them.

The media prediction is second place, so I need to be sure I start good and don’t drop too low or will be quickly sacked. Also OM is known for their quick sacking of coaches and fans who are tough to please, who also asked attacking football.

So will the choice for direct counterattack be approved? Therefore I will create a classic 424 French tactic with quick crosses and strikers with good heading ability.

Long term plans are, in season 4-5 I must compete for the title and challenge giants PSG, and in Europe a price must be possible in lower then the CL. Youth to implant is very important, and don’t spend too much on transfers.
