Today we are bringing you even more new Football Manager 2020 features that we found on social media channels. This is the 3rd article about new FM20 features. In case you didn’t read the two earlier articles about new FM20 features, you can check them out here:

 

Miles Jacobson OBE is the studio director of Sports Interactive and he wrote about many new Football Manager 2020 features and improvements on his social media.

That was a list of 28 new Football Manager 2020 features and improvements. We’ll go into detail about what we know about each and every one of them.

  • Teams from Portugal have B-team improvements

Since many B-teams in Portugal aren’t separate clubs to the senior club, you can now request which B-team player attend first-team training sessions.

  • New squad registration rules for Norway teams

When managing Norway teams, you now have to make A team and B team squads. The B team players are only allowed to play 3 leagues matches a season.

  • New conversations with players about financial fair play

Now you will have more conversation options when selling players. You will be able to tell them it’s because of financial fair play and they will understand your decision.

  • Protest transfers that your board accepts

You can finally protest against a transfer that your board automatically accepted. This will help managers of lower league clubs quite a lot!

  • Two new A-League (Australia) sides to the game

Football Federation Australia has announced Western Melbourne Group and Macarthur South West Sydney will join an expanded Hyundai A-League.

  • Resignation improvements

The board can now ask you to reconsider your resignation if they think you were doing a good job. They will also discuss ways to make you stay.

  • Club colors for manager’s clothing

When editing how your manager will look like, you can choose the option “club colors” to match with your club.

  • Loan durations

Loans can now last any number of months you choose and a few more seasons options.

  • New Statistics for Goalkeepers

You will be able to see statistics for “Penalties Faced” and “Penalties Saved” in the goalkeeper’s profile.

  • Warning – work permit issues

You will get a warning from your staff when a player can’t renew a contract because he has no chance to get a work permit.

  • Request to have a B-team

Many teams don’t have a B-team and now you can request from your board to allow you to have one.

  • Staff progression

Young staff will improve better/quicker when working with better coaches, scouts will improve better/quicker when doing more scouts and so on…

  • Staff search filter

When searching for new staff, you can filter them out by the country they are based in.

  • Negotiate who will pay salary if the player is loaned back

When you buy a player and loan him back to the team you just bought him from as part of the transfer, you can now negotiate who will pay his salary.

  • Improved newgen Faces

We have new improved newgen faces. You can check the video to see the difference between FM19 and FM20:

  • Released players join local clubs

When players are released, particularly at lower levels, they are now very likely to join a local club to the club they were released from.

  • Intensive language course when loaned back

When you buy a player and loan him back to the team you just bought him from as part of the transfer, you can send him on an intensive language course so he is ready for your country when the time comes.

  • Ask DoF to look for specific target position players

Now you can ask your DoF to look for roles, not just positions of players.

  • Multiple buyback clauses

You can now make multiple buyback clauses in transfers depending on when you buy back the player.

  • A-league clubs – senior players to youth team changes

When playing in the Australian A-league, you can now choose tree senior players who will be able to play for the youth team throughout the whole season.

  • New Steam Achievements

There will be three new steam achievements available to unlock all based on money earned in the game.

  • Randomization of newgen dates

This is a forum suggestion that they’ve listened to. We quote Miles Jacobson on this one:

“Further randomization of new gen dates. Mainly to hinder those of you who cheat, especially in network games….”

  • Board requests for loans

You can ask your board to give you extra money to complete a very important loan.

  • Track transfer spending more accurately

There will be an analysis of ins and outs of transfer spending.

  • Revamped the competitions rules screen

A quarter-final might have different rules than the semi-final or the final. You will now see the rules more clearly for each stage of a competition.

Staff will now give you more information about why they think someone is deserving or not deserving of a contract extension.

You will now see how much each team from the league is earning from sponsorships.

  • Staff suggestions to keep a selected style of play

Your staff will now tell you what you are doing wrong when it comes to a certain style of play you chose. They will tell you which instructions to add and which to remove.

What about new FM20 mobile features?

 

There aren’t many confirmed FM20 mobile features. What we know so far is that they will add two new playable leagues (we don’t know what nations), there will be a Match Engine Update and there will be a Skin Update.

More features and improvements will be made at the end of October.

The release date of FM20 mobile will be the same as with FM20 and FM20 touch.
