10. Sammy Ameobi
First on the list of the best FM23 free agents is Sammy Ameobi. The versatile winger has Premier League experience, and has made over 200 appearances in the Sky Bet Championship.
Ameobi has great attributes for what you would want in a winger, including 15 technique, 14 dribbling, and 15 flair. At the age of 30, this FM23 free agent can still play at a good level for a few more seasons. He would demand a wage of £6.5k per week.

9. Paul-Georges Ntep
Next on the list of the Best FM23 free agents is another winger in Paul-Georges Ntep. Although there are better free agents out there, Ntep would be a fantastic free agent signing for League 1 clubs!

A player that was once signed by Manchester City for over £40 million is now one of the best free agents in FM23! Mangala has played for some top clubs in his career, including Man City, Porto, and Valencia, but now finds himself without a club in his 30s.
The only concern with Mangala is his injury record. He has had some long-term injuries across his career, but he would be a brilliant option for one season.
Mangala is still a great defender, and is in demand at the start of your FM23 save, so make a move for him before he’s snapped up by another club. He wants around £8k per week.

7. Nikola Maksimovic

Maksimovic is a very solid centre back that stands out aerially. With 13 heading, and 16 jumping reach, and standing at 193cm tall, he’s great in both penalty boxes. This is what makes Maksimovic one of the best free agents in FM23! However, he’s wanted by lots of clubs, so you’ll need to move quickly to make him a part of your team.

6. Moussa Wague – Young Free Agent in FM23
Moussa Wague has made appearances for Barcelona, but is now a free agent recovering from a long-term injury. Wague is a pacey right back, and is also competent at left back.
He likes to get forward whenever possible, and has the ability to beat defenders and put in a good cross. To sign one of the best FM23 free agents, you’ll need to pay him £10k per week.

5. Max Kruse
Making the top 5 on the list of the best FM23 free agents is German international Max Kruse. He’s spent almost his whole career playing in Germany, scoring plenty of goals for teams such as Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen, and Union Berlin.
At 34 years of age, Kruse has some amazing technical attributes, such as 16 first touch, 19 penalty taking, and 16 technique. He has the versatility to play on both wings, at CAM, or striker. However, he doesn’t really have the pace anymore to play out wide.
Kruse would be a fantastic squad player for most teams in the game. He can cover multiple positions to help you get through your first FM23 season. He will cost just over £30k per week in wages though.

4. Graziano Pelle
Another veteran striker that’s one of the best free agents in FM23 is Graziano Pelle. The Italian impressed at Southampton years ago, before securing the bag in China. Pelle has scored plenty of goals wherever he’s went, and still has something to offer in FM23.
At 36, he doesn’t have much pace left, but would be an excellent target man or plan B option for a lower league side, or for most clubs outside the top 5 European leagues. With 16 strength, Pelle is also great at holding up the ball.
After making his millions in China, Pelle is happy to accept a contract of just over £3.5k per week.

Taider is an incredibly well rounded midfielder, and it’s baffling that he’s a free agent in FM23. He has some top physical attributes, including 15 natural fitness, acceleration, and stamina.
Saphir Taider also has the trait to arrive late in the opponents’ penalty area, which means he’s got an eye for goal. His high natural fitness means Taider definitely still has a few seasons left at the top. He would be a worthwhile, low risk investment, only asking for £13.5k per week. This is why Taider is definitely one of the best free agents in FM23.

2. Mateo Musacchio
Just missing out on top spot on the list of the best FM23 free agents is Argentina international Mateo Musacchio. He’s played for Villareal, AC Milan, and Lazio, which shows he can perform at top teams.
Musacchio has fantastic defensive attributes, including 15 tackling, 17 bravery, and 15 marking. Similar to Taider, Musacchio has 15 natural fitness, which means his attributes will decrease at a slower rate than others.
He is an excellent option who could be a starter in your team for 2-3 seasons. He will cost £37.5k per week though, unless your negotiation skills are better than ours!

1. Isco – Best FM23 Free Agent
For his technical attributes alone, Isco has to be the best FM23 free agent. He has 16 dribbling, 17 passing, 18 first touch, and 19 technique! At 30 years old, Isco still has a lot to give as a playmaker, and would be an asset to almost any save in FM23.
Isco has consistently played for Real Madrid for most of his career, so he can perform in high pressure situations. He is wanted by Wolves at the start of your FM23 save, which shows his quality.
If you have a spare 37k per week, give Isco a season to show you he’s still class.

You can see there’s some value to be found in the free agent market in FM23. The best FM23 free agent is arguably Isco, but this will depend on your individual FM23 save.
In the lower leagues, Ntep or Ameobi would be top signings, but if you have a higher wage budget, Isco, Musacchio, or Taider, are definitely worth it.
