This is because a lot of quality strikers recently signed for new teams, and transfer budgets in the first season are low.

7. Marcus Thuram
Marcus Thuram is 7th on the list of the best strikers FM23 has to offer. The French international is the son of world class former footballer Lilian Thuram, and also has a brother, Kephren Thuram, who is an up and coming star playing for Nice. So you can see that football runs in the family!
Thuram has some brilliant physical attributes, such as 16 strength, 17 pace, and 16 acceleration. He also has an eye for goal with 14 finishing and 16 technique. The versatile forward can also play on the left wing, but is definitely better as a striker.
If you want to sign Marcus Thuram in the first FM23 season, he will cost you £25 million. However, Thuram is wanted by some top clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, so will likely ask for high wages. He also only has one year left on his deal, so you could take a chance and try to sign him on a pre-contract in January.

He has 15 finishing at just 19 years old, and has good acceleration so he can get in behind the opposition’s defence.
Leonardo will cost you £11.5 million if you want to sign him in your first FM23 season, which is ridiculous value for money considering his potential ability. If you don’t need Leonardo in your first season, you could sign him and loan him back to his current club for a season.

4. Mehdi Taremi
If you’re looking for a more experienced striker, you must take a look at Mehdi Taremi. He’s been scoring goals for fun in Portugal, with 58 goals in 99 games for FC Porto. Taremi’s mental attributes are what make him one of the best strikers FM23 has to offer, which includes 16 teamwork, decision making, and 17 vision.
You may be put off by the fact he’s 29 years old, but he has 16 natural fitness. This means he will keep the quality of most of his attributes into his mid 30s.
If you want to sign one of the best strikers in FM23, he will cost you about £28 million. Taremi is also wanted by European giants Liverpool, which shows the quality he has.

Martinez can be signed in the first FM23 season, but will cost you just over £100 million! This is a transfer that you’ll likely have to pay in installments.

1. Victor Osimhen – Best Striker FM23 has to offer!
The best FM23 striker you can sign in the first season has to be Victor Osimhen! He has an incredible 19 pace and 17 acceleration, making him one of the fastest strikers in Football Manager 2023, but he also has other quality attributes to go with it. 19 off the ball movement, combined with 16 finishing and heading, make Osimhen a brilliant all round striker.
At just 23 years of age, Osimhen isn’t even in his prime yet, and has more than a goal every 2 games for Nigeria.
As you can imagine, Victor Osimhen is really expensive. Napoli do not want to sell him, so you will need to pay his £86 million release clause if you want to sign the best striker in FM23.

These strikers are definitely the best strikers FM23 has to offer that you can sign in the first season. There are of course players such as Mbappe and Haaland, but they won’t leave their clubs in the first season.
