Best Players to sign when managing in the Premier League on FM24
The Premier League is the most popular league to manage in Football Manager. It’s where the best teams are, and where all the money is (except from Saudi Arabia).
If you’re looking for players to sign in your first season, you’re in the right place. This article consists of the best Premier League signings in FM24, that are interested a move in the first transfer window. We’ve got players that will be suitable for any team you’re managing, and recommend which teams should sign each player.
We wrote a similar article for FM23 which is extremely popular, so you can trust FMBrotherhood to find the best Premier League signings for you in FM24 too.
11. Jesse Lingard
After spending last season at Nottingham Forest, Jesse Lingard finds himself without a club again. However, he’s still got plenty of quality to offer Premier League sides.
Lingard is a versatile player, that’s best positioned in any of the positions behind the striker. He’s got 17 natural fitness, so even though he’s 30 you don’t need to worry about his attributes dropping off any time soon.
Jesse Lingard is willing to accept a salary of just £30k per week, which is affordable for any Premier League Club. He would do a solid job as a starter or squad player for any team in the bottom half of the Premier League.

Would be an ideal signing for:
- Fighting relegation (Luton, Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Burnley)
- Mid-table team (Brentford, Crystal Palace)
10. Samu
When you’re in a relegation battle, you need players that are hard working, determined, and willing to run their socks off all game. This is why Samu is one of the best English Premier League signings in FM24. His mental attributes are amazing, which include 17 work rate, 18 determination, and 17 aggression.
I signed Samu in Football Manager 23 for Luton Town and he was immense. I can tell you from my own experience he’s a great player that will leave everything out on the pitch. Samu only costs £1.7 million and can be signed on low wages. He’s such a risk free signing that can make a big impact on your chances of staying up.

Would be an ideal signing for:
- Fighting relegation (Luton, Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Burnley)
9. Sebastiaan Bornauw
Bornauw is a solid centre back that’s transfer listed in the first FM24 transfer window for just £4 million! This is a bargain considering his quality. Sebastiaan Bornauw has excellent mental attributes, including 16 aggression, bravery, determination, and work rate.
He’s also dominant in the air as he’s tall, combined with 17 jumping reach and 16 heading. This Premier League signing is just 24 years old, so you’ll get plenty of years out of him, and he could even slightly improve as a player.
Would be an ideal signing for:
- Mid-table team (Brentford, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Wolves)
8. Filipe Relvas
Filipe Relvas is another centre back that we just had to have on this list of the best Premier League signings in FM24. I signed him in a Luton town save towards the end of FM23, and he’s been phenomenal. I’ve been playing him as a wide left centre back in a back 3, and he’s been getting average ratings of at least 7 in every season. This was even more impressive when I was in a relegation battle in the first season. Relvas has improved his attributes and still starts for my team, even though I’m now playing in the Champions League.
He’s even better than Bornauw in the air, with 18 heading! He’s not the best technically, but if you’re after a no nonsense centre back while you’re in a relegation scrap like I was, Relvas is the player you must sign. He will cost £5.75 million, which isn’t expensive considering his quality.
Would be an ideal signing for:
- Fighting relegation (Luton, Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Burnley)
7. Quinten Timber
Quinten Timber, brother of Jurrien Timber, is a ball winning midfielder for Dutch side Feynoord. He had some decent attributes on FM23, but he’s even better in FM24. Timber’s mental and physical attributes are what make him standout as one of the best Premier League signings in Football Manager 2024.
Remember he’s just 22 years old, so if you give him regular game time, he’ll get even better. Timber can be signed for a very reasonable £11 million. However, he’s wanted by Brighton and West Ham, so you’ll need to move fast.
Would be an ideal signing for:
- Top Half Teams (Brighton, West Ham, Brentford, Aston Villa)
Quinten Timber in 2028
This is why you should sign Quinten Timber for your Premier League club. In our FM24 simulation, he moved to Bayern Munich for £53 million a few seasons in. This is a lot more than the £11 million you can get him for in 2023. His attributes have improved nicely all across the board.

6. Wilfred Gnonto
Wilfred Gnonto has seriously impressed for Leeds since signing for them. The youngster can easily beat defenders, and is effective in the final third. His performances have seen him receive a boost in attributes in FM24.
After Leeds were relegated to the Sky Bet Championship, Gnonto tried to force a move away from the club. He didn’t get what he wanted, but you have the chance to change that in your Football Manager 24 save. He will cost you £16.5 million, but he’s well worth it. Gnonto is already Premier League quality, and has the potential to become a brilliant Premier League winger.
Would be an ideal signing for:
- Mid-table teams (Everton, Brentford, Wolves, Fulham)
5. Kyle Walker-Peters
Kyle Walker-Peters may not sound like the most exciting Premier League signing in FM24. However, he’s well worthy of being on this list. Walker-Peters can competently play in both full-back positions, and can play right wing back too. Versatility is such an underrated quality that Football Manager players often overlook.
He’s good defensively, with 14 tackling, 13 anticipation, and 14 positioning. Walker-Peters can also put in a great cross, and has 18 natural fitness. At 26 years old, Walker-Peters is just coming into his prime, and still has plenty of years left at the top. For £16.5 million, you get yourself a homegrown quality player.
Because he plays for Southampton in the Championship, he’ll be desperate to get a move back to the Premier League.
Would be an ideal signing for:
- Mid-table teams (Everton, Brentford, Wolves, Fulham, Nottingham Forest)
4. Jeremie Frimpong
There isn’t a large quantity of quality right backs available to sign in the first FM24 season. That’s why if you’re a top club needing to fill the spot, Frimpong is a player you must consider.
He’s absolutely rapid, and has terrific dribbling and flair. He’s one of the best attacking right backs in FM24, and has potential to get even better.
Frimpong does lack a little bit defensively, but he’s competent enough. Especially for a team that dominates possession. He will rack up the assists.
You need to pay his release clause of £34 million, and you’ll struggle to find a right back as good, and as young, for the same price.
Would be an ideal signing for:
- European Challengers (Manchester United, Newcastle)
Jeremie Frimpong in 2028
Frimpong has the potential to become one of the best right backs in FM24. That’s why he’s a regular starter for Real Madrid in his prime. Look at those unbelievable physical attributes! His defensive attributes have improved too.
3. Jean-Clair Todibo
You can see why Todibo was wanted by Manchester United in the summer. He is a top centre back in FM24 and he’s only 23 years old. The OGC Nice centre back has excellent tackling, pace, and strength.
Jean-Clair Todibo is definitely a modern day centre back. He’s got good technicals, and has no problem passing out from the back.
Would be an ideal signing for:
- European Contenders (Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Newcastle)
2. Aurelien Tchouameni
You probably didn’t think Tchouameni would be available to sign in the first season, but he is! Real Madrid are willing to let him go for just £60 million, which is a bargain for top Premier League clubs looking to improve their midfield. He’s actually one of the best players to sign in FM24 overall.
He’s already one of the best defensive minded midfielders in the game, and he’s got potential to get even better. Almost all of his mental attributes are rated 14 or higher and all of his physicals are well rounded too.
Would be an ideal signing for:
- Title Challengers (Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal)
1. Victor Osimhen – Best Premier League Signing in FM24
Now you might have to sell a player or two to be able to afford Victor Osimhen, but just try flogging one of your players to Saudi Arabia.
If you can get enough money to pay Victor Osimhen’s £86 million release clause, you must do it. He’s definitely one of the best strikers in FM24 after receiving an upgrade in attributes from FM23.
Osimhen has 18 finishing, 18 heading, and 20 off the ball movement. Add this to 19 pace, and Football Manager have created a monster. Guaranteed to score goals, Victor Osimhen is the best Premier League signing in FM24.
