Best Left Back Wonderkids in FM26
Left back wonderkids have been quite hard to find on the last few editions of FM. However, in Football Manager 2026, there are lots of young LBs who look excellent in their prime. We’ve simulated 10 seasons into the future to find the best FM26 wonderkid left backs to help you build a balanced defence and identify the perfect player to sign in your save.
What’s a Wonderkid LB in FM26?
All of the players on this list have left back as their primary position. We’ve selected left backs who combine defensive consistency with strong attacking and mental attributes, including tackling, crossing, pace, and concentration.
Once you’ve got your wonderkid left back, find your wonderkid striker to score you some goals!
10. Joaquin Seys
Seys is a versatile young left back who also has the ability to play at left wing back, right back, and right wing back. Personally, when I’m managing a squad playing in European competitions where you need a large squad, I like to have 2 left backs, 2 right backs, and a 5th player who can play both. Joaquin Seys is perfect for this.
Unfortunately, he’s just signed a new contract, so you’ll need to wait a season before trying to sign him in your save.
Joaquin Seys in 2035
In our FM26 simulation, Seys went onto make over 100 appearances for Belgium, and developed into a great left back. He’s well rounded technically, mentally, and physically. A very solid left back who can tackle, cross, and pass to a good standard.
He isn’t one of the best left back wonderkids in FM26 because he isn’t brilliant at anything, but still a fantastic player to sign.

9. Peyton Miller
This left back wonderkid is absolutely rapid! 15 acceleration and 18 pace is amazing for a 17 year old. He can keep up with pacey wingers already, and will be great when playing in a high line.
Miller is still extremely raw though. He only has 2 technical attributes rated above 10, and he doesn’t have any standout mental attributes.
He wants to stay at New England to continue to develop, so add him to your shortlist and check back in with him every transfer window to see if he’s willing to move.
Peyton Miller in 2035

He’s the fastest LB wonderkid in FM26 in his prime. Something I’ve noticed so far with FM26 is there aren’t many players who get to 18+ pace and acceleration, so for Miller to have 19 pace he’s one of the fastest players in the game.
Miller’s mental attributes are loads better as well, and his technical attributes are now good enough for first team football.
8. Harry Amass
Harry Amass is next on our list of the best FM26 wonderkid left backs. He’s currently on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, so you’ll need to wait a season before signing him. However, his transfer value at the start of your save is quite low. If this stays under ยฃ5 million, you’ve got a bargain on your hands!
Harry Amass in 2035
Harry Amass develops into an excellent left back in FM26. He’s great defensively, with 17 positioning, and 15 anticipation and concentration. Amass’ physical attributes are also very strong.
I also think if you signed him early in your save and gave him plenty of first team football, he could be even better than this.
7. Patrick Dorgu
Dorgu is another Manchester United left back wonderkid. Although, he’s probably more of a wing back, and can even play left wing. He’s excellent physically, and has room for improvement mentally and technically.
As he only joined Man United in January 2025, he’s not looking to leave in the first transfer window.
Patrick Dorgu in 2035
In his prime, Dorgu has improved a lot in the mental side of his game. His concentration has increased from 13 to 16, an his positioning has improved from 10 to 14.
Dorgu is a fantastic versatile option for managers who like attacking full backs with good crossing and pace.
6. Lewis Hall – English Wonderkid LB
Lewis Hall is 6th on our list of the best FM26 LB wonderkids. He’s a well rounded fullback who can also play in midfield. His 15 crossing is fantastic, and heโs confident on the ball, capable of stepping into midfield to progress play and link up with wingers in attacking phases.
I tried to sign Hall in season one, but he wouldn’t even speak to Real Madrid because they ‘lack the financial muscle’ so sign him. This could be a beta bug, but there’s also a chance he just doesn’t want to leave Newcastle right now. He could also cost you around ยฃ50 million which is a lot of money!
Lewis Hall in 2035
Looks like Hall never wants to leave Newcastle! His mental attributes standout, with 4 of these being rated 16. Hall’s technical attributes are also great for a left back, with 14 tackling and 15 first touch being very solid.
Hall is a top left back, but there are even better LB wonderkids in FM26!
5. Nico O’Reilly
Nico O’Reilly burst onto the scene last season with Manchester City. You have to be a fantastic young player to break into Pep Guardiola sides, and O’Reilly has played regularly at fullback, making him a great LB wonderkid.
He’s also very comfortable playing in midfield, and would suit a system that likes to have a full back invert into midfield when in possession.
Nico O’Reilly in 2035
Some of O’Reilly’s attributes have improved significantly in our FM26 simulation. His concentration has increased by 5 to 18, and his anticipation from 13 to 16.
One of the reasons Nico O’Reilly doesn’t make it higher on this list of the best left back wonderkids in FM26 is because his tackling isn’t very high. 11 isn’t great, but he’s got loads of other amazing attributes!
4. Jorrel Hato
Hato is the youngest captain in Ajax’s history, which is a seriously impressive feat considering the incredible talent that’s come through the Ajax youth academy. His amazing performances and leadership has earned him a move to Chelsea, who seem to love stockpiling wonderkids at the moment.
Hato’s preferred position is at left back, but he could have also been classed as a wonderkid centre back, if you’re happy with you CB being just 6ft tall.
Jorrel Hato in 2035
In our simulation, Hato has improved across the board, becoming one of the best LBs in FM26! He has 7 attributes rated 16, and many more rated 15.
Similar to O’Reilly, he’s comfortable coming inside and playing in midfield, which he can do well with his good passing, vision, and first touch. Going forward, he could ideally have better crossing and dribbling so he can beat his man if needed.
3. El Hadji Malick Diouf
At the time of writing this, West Ham are having an awful season, but El Hadji Malick Diouf is one of the only bright sparks in their squad. Heโs been a constant threat down the left-hand side, driving forward with energy and confidence. He’s a very attacking left back, with a whipped cross that causes chaos for defenders and regularly finds the striker at the back post. Diouf is strong, quick, and not scared to put a tackle in either.
He’s just signed for West Ham, but he is on the loan list, so you can sign him on loan in the first transfer window (unless this changes when FM26 is fully released).
El Hadji Malick Diouf in 2035
Manchester United signed Diouf in our simulation and he became one of the best players at the club! His 17 crossing and 14 technique makes him one of the best attacking left backs in FM26. His defensive attributes are great too, with 14 tackling, 16 positioning, and 16 anticipation.
El Hadji Malick Diouf is one of the best FM26 African wonderkids, so if you like to recruit players from that continent, sign him up!
2. Saba Kharebashvili
Now I’ll be completely honest, before simulating 10 seasons into the future I’d never heard of Saba Kharebashvili. However, he’s got to be one of the best 16 year olds in FM26!
15 passing, 16 aggression, 17 determination, and loads more great attributes. Loads of footballers in their prime would be happy to have these attributes in FM. He’s also already got a cap for Georgia’s first team, being the youngest player in their history to get one.
He’s currently on a youth contract, but isn’t looking to move in the first transfer window. Keep checking up on him every 6 months or so to see when he’s willing to move, because he plays for a team that’s not going to ask for too much money!
Saba Kharebashvili in 2035
10 seasons into your save Kharebashvili will only just be coming into his prime, but he’s become one of the best LBs in FM26! His mental attributes are really strong, and his physicals are well rounded too.
He can fill in at right back if needed, but his weak foot isn’t great, so if you want to make him a defender that can play across the whole backline, I’d get him training his right foot.
Myles Lewis-Skelly: Best FM26 Left Back Wonderkid!
The breakout star of the Premier League in the 24/25 season has to be Myles Lewis-Skelly. He came into Arsenal’s first team from the youth academy and it didn’t phase him at all.
Lewis-Skelly is fantastic physically for an 18 year old. His agility, balance, and dribbling allow him to glide past opposition players and carry the ball effortlessly from defence to attack. He’s a great passer of the ball too.
Myles Lewis-Skelly in 2035
In his prime, Myles Lewis-Skelly is a phenomenal left back. You can see that he can become the best left back in FM26!
All of his mental attributes except from leadership are rated 14 or higher, and he’s got 17 strength, meaning he can easily shrug wingers off the ball who drive down his side.
If you ever have the money to sign Lewis-Skelly in your save, I’m confident he’ll be worth it. Even if it’s for ยฃ100 million!
Conclusion
There are lots of fantastic wonderkid left backs in FM26! If you prioritise defensive stability in your full backs, then consider signing Jorrel Hato or Saba Kharebashvili. If you want a left back who likes to bomb forward and get involved with the attack, then Patrick Dorgu or El Hadji Malick Diouf will give you constant width, dangerous crosses, and attacking intent down the flank.
Pair your wonderkid left back with one of the best FM26 wonderkid left wingers!
